Heitor Magno:
Heitor Magno is an experimental artist and photographer who leans towards double exposure art as his main forte. Most of his work revolves around replacing models faces with painted glitches, fire or photographs of flowers. The double exposures in his photographs allow the brightest sections of the model to become transparent, giving the artist the opportunity to mix two or three different photographs together. When he uses this technique for glitching photographs, he usually covers the faces of the subjects. He also tends to digitally enhance photographs, moving sections and creating a broken/ corrupt look. A lot of his artwork is very pale and washed out which makes the glitch stand out a lot more with vivid colours and abstract shapes. I am looking to use his cutting style in my experiments as I need my models face to be covered but the rest of their body and the scenery to be easy to recognise to allow me to get my message across that society is corrupt and obsessed with technology to the point where we pass by unnoticed and without taking notice of others. His style only breaks sections of photographs which helps create a glitched look whilst still keeping the main aspects true.
Magno influenced the way I created glitches in my GIF images, this is because I used similar lines and colours to move my models face around. This was effective in creating a corrupt look whilst keeping a recogniseable frame.
![]() Magno 1:This image has a very unique look to it as it is the first glitch art image I have seen that covers the faces of the models. It is very vivid and misshapen which makes the feel of the image more relevant to my theme of societies new corrupt tendency to pass by other beings without noticing because of our technical love. Magno has effectively shifted some rows from the tops of the models heads which makes the file look broken. I will use this technique in my final piece to create a corrupt look. |

![]() Magno 2:This image looks as if Magno has split the photo and used a smudge tool or some form of stretching and pulling brush to warp colours into a glitched shape. It looks great with the black and white as it appears more vivid and outstanding. |
![]() Magno 3:Again, Magno tends to use BRIGHT colours such as yellow, pink and blue, a common colour in glitch art. I will include this in my art to ensure I am getting the full Glitch look across. |
![]() Magno 4:I like the square look of this glitch art as it creates a more pixelated feel. Pixels are also part of technology which goes hand in hand with my theme. |
