ARTIST RESEARCH:

I am researching the art style 'Chiaroscuro' in the name of many modern and classic artists such as Caravaggio, Rembrandt, K.T Parker, Leonid Afremov, Emma Simcock-Tooth and an artist who looks more towards a modern take on light in photography who goes by the name of Amy Friend.

I am studying the way that these artists use natural and artificial light to their advantage and through what different methods do they create such high quality, atmospheric and bold photographs.
Chiaroscuro art and photography focuses on the strong contrasts between light and dark which of course can fit into my theme of warmth and comfort in the light. This art is usually used to achieve a sense of depth and dimension in the main subject of the piece.
